Talk to Him

talk to Him

Never forget that ALLAH is your Friend – The BEST of all friends! He wants to hear what’s been happening in your life. Good or bad, whether it’s been full of happiness, sorrow or anger, or even when you want to question about the grief, sadness and worries in your life.

Go ahead, Go down in Sujood…TALK to HIM this very moment and notice the peace, relief and contentment fill up your heart! Feel that special sweetness of eeman which you get when you have that special connection with your Lord!

Imam Shawkani (rahimahuAllah) rightly said: “To know your dua’a is accepted is to have your heart ready, cry and shed tears to Allah, being persistent, and after that feeling, a burden taken off your shoulders.”

Allah is the Irresistible, Able to Bring Benefit and Protect from Harm

As I watch the gruesome images of Muslim kids being beaten, men and women being burnt, murdered or tortured, my soul cries out with helplessness and extreme distress. I rush to the only thing that would calm it. The Qur’an! And just as I begin reading Allah’s Glorious words, I come across ayaat that seem like a light in a deep dark tunnel…ayaat that bring solace to a troubled heart…ayaat that promise me, promise us as an ummah that HE IS THERE…HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE AND HE WILL BRING US KHAIR SOON!
Allah says:

(And if Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He, and if He touches you with good, then He is able to do all things.) [Al An’aam 6:17]

SubhanAllah! Allah states that He Alone brings benefit or harm, and that He does what He wills with His creatures, none can resist His judgment or prevent what He decrees, SubhanAllah! We have to believe that Allah gives and takes but no one can take away our faith in Allah from our heart. It’s something no one can snatch from you. Even if we are to lose everything in this world, even if we go through the worst of all trials, diseases and sufferings…we should know that it’s His Decree, His Plan for us…if He has touched us with hardship today, we have to believe that it is ONLY HIM WHO has the power to remove it!
And this realization itself helps us navigate through all the bumps and roadblocks in our life. We have submitted to the One Who will never abandon us, never leave us.
It is recorded in the Sahih that the Messenger of Allah used to supplicate,

«اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ، وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَد»

(O Allah, there is none Who can avert what You grant or give what You deprive, and no fortune ever helps the fortunate against You.) This is why Allah further says in Al An’aam:

وَهُوَ الْقَاهِرُ فَوْقَ عِبَادِهِ

(And He is the Subjugator over His servants. ) [Al An’aam 6:18]

meaning, to Him the necks are subservient, the tyrants humble before Him and He has complete control over all things. The creatures have all bowed to Allah and are humbled before His grace, honor, pride, greatness, highness and ability over all things. The creatures are insignificant before Him, for they are all under His irresistible decision and power,

وَهُوَ الْحَكِيمُ

(and He is the All-Wise,) [Al An’aam 6:18] in all His actions,

الْخَبِيرُ (Well-Acquainted with all things.) [6:18]
Who places everything in its rightful place, grants and favors whomever deserves His favor.

So know O Muslim – Engulfed in pain and torture! Know that Allah is All Aware, All Wise, All Knowing, all-Seeing, the Just, the Loving, the Giver of all things, the One Who answers the call of his slaves. Allah will never abandon you, Allah will never withhold anything except to give something much greater. Allah’s plan is the best of all plans. So bear with patience for a little while more, for in this struggle you are not alone…!

Life is like baking a cake!

20130531_223244
A young boy complains to his Grandmother about how “everything” is going wrong. School, family problems, health problems, problems with friends, etc. Meanwhile, the Grandmother is baking a cake. She asks her grandson if he would like a sweet treat, which, of course, he does. “Here, have some cooking oil,” she says.

“Yuck” says the boy.

“How about a couple raw eggs? ”

“Gross, Grandma!”

“Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?”

“Grandma, those are all yucky!”

To which the Grandmother replies: “Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!”

ALLAH plans for us the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But ALLAH knows that when He puts these things all in the most perfect order, everything will turn out to be wonderful!

All we have to do is Trust Him….!

Allah Taála says: “But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.” (Al Qur’an 2:216)

Grow old beautifully!

old

I clicked this picture while performing Sa’ee (during Umrah) a while ago. Couldn’t help but wonder about this person’s eeman and admire his spirit & enthusiasm to please Allah even when it was so hard for him. Masha Allah! It is surely Allah who guides and strengthens one to adhere to His obedience and His worship till his last breath!

May Allah bless all of us with good health and strong eeman so that we grow old obeying Him and pleasing Him in the best of ways! Aameen! :’)
