Adornment of the worldly life

kahf
“Wealth and Children are the beauty of this world…” (18:46)
After narrating the parable of the arrogant rich man and his poorer neighbor, Allah informs us of the above.
Note that Allah does not call wealth evil or corruptible. He calls it beauty and puts it in the same category as children.
Just as children are beautiful, and when raised properly they become a source of goodness in both worlds, wealth is the same. Wealth when earned in a Halal way and spent in the right channels is a beautiful thing that makes the world a better place.
The lesson of the story is not to stay away from wealth. Rather, it is to use our wealth in a way that is beneficial in both worlds.

Dua during the Special Hour on Friday

friday last hour

Allah’s Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) talked about Friday and said:

‘There is an hour on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while offering Salat (prayer) and asks something from Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala), then Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) will definitely meet his demand.’

And he (the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) pointed out the shortness of that particular time with his hands. [Sahih al-Bukhari]

Some have said that this hour is from the time the Imam (prayer’s leader) enters the mosque on Friday’s prayer until the prayer is over (ie between the two khutbahs), whereas others have said that it is the last hour of the day (ie after the Asr prayer until the Maghrib prayer).

(Note: when we say an hour here we do not mean the hour everyone knows (60 minutes) but an unspecified period of time because the time counters which we use today came after the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) had died.

Special Meeting with Allah on Fridays

….for those who value and especially prepare for Friday in this World!

Beautiful-Scenery

The people of Paradise will have a gathering with their Lord every Friday on which they will have the blessing of gazing upon His noble Countenance.

At-Tabaraani narrated in al-Mu‘jam al-Kabeer (6717) that Anas ibn Maalik said:

The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Jibreel came to me with something like a white mirror in his hand, on which there was a black spot. I said: ‘What is this, O Jibreel?’ He said: ‘This is Jumu‘ah (Friday); it is the master of days and we call it Yawm al-Mazeed (the Day of More) – {cf. “There they will have all that they desire, and We have more (for them, i.e. a glance at the All-Mighty, All-Majestic)” [Qaaf 50:35]).}

I said: ‘O Jibreel, what does “more” mean?’ He said: ‘That is because your Lord has allocated a valley in Paradise that is more fragrant than white musk. When Friday comes, among the days in the hereafter, the Lord, may He be blessed and exalted, will descend from His Throne (‘Arsh) to His Kursiy, and the Kursiy will be surrounded with seats of light on which the Prophets will sit. These seats will be surrounded with footstools of gold on which the martyrs will sit. The people of the chambers will come down from the chambers and sit on sand hills of musk, and those who sit on the sand hills will not think that those who sit on the footstools and seats are any better off than them.

Then the Owner of Majesty and Honour will appear and say: ‘Ask of Me.’

They will say: ‘We ask for Your good pleasure, O Lord.’

He will say: ‘It is because I am pleased with you that you are in My Paradise, and you are honoured.’

Then He will say (again): ‘Ask of Me.’ They will say all together: ‘We ask for Your good pleasure.’

He will ask them to testify that He is pleased with them. Then He will say (once more): ‘Ask of Me,’

and they will ask of Him until each one of them is finished.

Then He will grant them that which no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and it has not crossed the mind of any human.”

AllahuAkbar!
Ya Allah make us of the people who especially prepare for Fridays…who get to enter Jannah and the ones who get to sit and watch Your Noble Face and talk to You! Aaaameen Ya Allah! Ya Samii’ Ad Duaa! :’)

3rd October: A Golden Opportunity..

gold
A Golden Opportunity to Have Your Du’aas Answered!! This coming Friday (9 Dhil Hijjah / 3rd Oct) represents one of THE most amazing opportunities a believer could ask for. Not only are we in the best 10 days of the year, Friday will represent the best of these 10 days, it will also be the best day of the week; within it it will also contain the best hour for making dua, and to top it all off, many will also be fasting!

As for the day of Arafaah:

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no day on which Allaah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of ‘Arafaah. He comes close and expresses His pride to the angels, saying, ‘What do these people want?’”

As for fasting on the day of Arafaah for those not performing Hajj:

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked about fasting on the Day of ‘Arafaah. He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.” Narrated by Muslim.

As for the du’aa of the fasting person:

Our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are three prayers that are not rejected: the prayer of a father for his child, the prayer of the fasting person and the prayer of the traveller.”

As for Du’aa in sa’at al-Istijabah on Friday:

Jâbir (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Prophet Sall Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: “Friday is comprised of twelve hours. There is one in which a Muslim who asks Allah for something will have it granted to him. Seek it in the last hour after `Asr.”

My dear brothers and sisters, Allah alone knows whether we will ever get this opportunity again or not. Prepare for it from now. Make a list of du’aas you want to make and spend the final hour before Maghrib this coming Friday sincerely pleading to Allah. This IS one of THE best opportunities we may get for a while.

The Real Meaning of يَوْمَ الْحَجِّ الْأَكْبَرِ

Hajj Akbar

Question: What is the meaning of يَوْمَ الْحَجِّ الْأَكْبَرِ “Day of the Greatest Hajj” and الْحَجِّ الْأَكْبَرِ  “The Greatest Hajj”? Are they synonymous? Or, do they differ in meaning? Are they both in the Glorious Qur’an and authentic Sunnah (whatever is reported from the Prophet)?

Answer: The greatest day of Hajj is the Day of Sacrifice, which is the tenth day of Dhu’l-Hijjah. Abu Dawood narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stood up on the day of Sacrifice during the Hajj that he performed and said: “What day is this?” They said, “the Day of Sacrifice.” He said, “This is the greatest day of Hajj.”  (Sunan Abi Dawood, 1945; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood, 1700.)

Al-Bukhaari (369) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (may Allaah be pleased with him) sent me amongst the announcers to proclaim in Mina on the Day of Sacrifice, “After this year no mushrik is allowed to perform Hajj or to circumambulate the House naked.”

The Day of Sacrifice is called the greatest day of Hajj because during that night there is the standing at ‘Arafah and staying overnight in al-Mash’ar al-Haraam, and during that day there is the stoning of the Jamrah, offering the sacrifice, shaving the head, tawaaf and saa’i, which are all actions of Hajj. The day of Hajj refers to the time and the description of greatest refers to the actions done at that time.

If Arafat is on a Friday, then many describe it as Hajj Akbar (Big Hajj). There is no big or small Hajj. There is only one Hajj. Every year is Hajj Akbar. The 10th day of Dhul Hijja is described in The Qur’an as Yaum-ul-Hajjil-Akbar.

The greatest day of Hajj is mentioned in the Qur’aan where Allaah says:

9_3

“And a declaration from Allaah and His Messenger to mankind on the greatest day (the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah — the 12th month of Islamic calendar)” [al-Tawbah 9:3]

Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim said, commenting upon Aayah 3 of Soorah Baraa.ah (Sooratut-Tawbah): ”The Qur’an has clearly stated that the announcement occurred on the Day of the Major Hajj, and there is no disagreement about the fact that the announcement took place on the day of sacrifice in Minaa. So this is a decisive proof that the day of the major Hajj is the Day of Sacrifice…”  [‘`Awnul Ma’bood’:5/420].

As for the Day of ‘Arafah falling upon the day of Jumu’ah, then that is when two ‘Eids combine- as happened during the Hajj of the Prophet- sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam- , and as was indicated in the famous statement of ‘Umar radiyallaahu ‘anhu- to the Jew, concerning the sending down of Aayah 3 of Sooratul-Maa.idah.
