Designed for a Specific Reason

The fire didn’t burn Ibraheem, the knife didn’t slaughter Isma’eel, the sea didn’t drown Moosa, the whale didn’t eat Yunus and Zakariyya didn’t die childless (Peace be upon them all).
BELIEVE when your Lord says in the Qur’an:

Tawbah 51

“Say: “Nothing shall ever happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us. He is our Maulâ (Lord, Helper and Protector).” And in Allâh let the believers put their trust.” [At Tawbah 9:51]

Just as Allah has meticulously designed everything in the universe at a perfect standard whether it is as big as a galaxy or as tiny as a quark or a string in an atom, He has also designed everything that happens in your life for a specific reason. It is a perfect universe; nothing takes place randomly! Trust in Allah! (Quote by Moutasem Al Hameedy)

May Allah make us pleased with His Decree and guide our hearts to eeman, tawakkal, sabr and shukr. Aameen.

Let Him take care of you..

birds

“Do they not see the birds held in suspension in the midst of the sky? No-one holds them but Allah. Verily, in this are clear proofs and signs for people who believe.” [al-Nahl: 79]

I love the image portrayed in this verse; an image of birds floating and soaring through the sky, and then Allah gives us His Lesson: that none holds them up except Him. He is the One Who gives all of us our abilities in life, and He is the Sole Being who ‘holds us up’. Have you ever had those moments when you think a situation will no doubt crush you, only for you to make it through? Have you ever doubted your abilities only to find that somehow you triumph? Have you ever been so low and down, but in the end, Allah held you up?

The birds are an interesting example in the verse above. They are from the Signs of Allah which He has put in place for us to take lessons from. Just as He keeps them soaring above the ground, likewise He will keep you afloat of the troubles of this world. So let Him take care of you, and let go of those worldly things if they are anchoring you down. These are indeed Signs for those whose faith helps them see with basirah (insight).

Allah is the Irresistible, Able to Bring Benefit and Protect from Harm

2014-07-07 15.35.00

As I watch the gruesome images of Muslim kids being beaten, men and women being burnt, murdered or tortured, my soul cries out with helplessness and extreme distress. I rush to the only thing that would calm it. The Qur’an! And just as I begin reading Allah’s Glorious words, I come across ayaat that seem like a light in a deep dark tunnel…ayaat that bring solace to a troubled heart…ayaat that promise me, promise us as an ummah that HE IS THERE…HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE AND HE WILL BRING US KHAIR SOON!
Allah says:

(And if Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He, and if He touches you with good, then He is able to do all things.) [Al An’aam 6:17]

SubhanAllah! Allah states that He Alone brings benefit or harm, and that He does what He wills with His creatures, none can resist His judgment or prevent what He decrees, SubhanAllah! We have to believe that Allah gives and takes but no one can take away our faith in Allah from our heart. It’s something no one can snatch from you. Even if we are to lose everything in this world, even if we go through the worst of all trials, diseases and sufferings…we should know that it’s His Decree, His Plan for us…if He has touched us with hardship today, we have to believe that it is ONLY HIM WHO has the power to remove it!
And this realization itself helps us navigate through all the bumps and roadblocks in our life. We have submitted to the One Who will never abandon us, never leave us.
It is recorded in the Sahih that the Messenger of Allah used to supplicate,

«اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ، وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَد»

(O Allah, there is none Who can avert what You grant or give what You deprive, and no fortune ever helps the fortunate against You.) This is why Allah further says in Al An’aam:

وَهُوَ الْقَاهِرُ فَوْقَ عِبَادِهِ

(And He is the Subjugator over His servants. ) [Al An’aam 6:18]

meaning, to Him the necks are subservient, the tyrants humble before Him and He has complete control over all things. The creatures have all bowed to Allah and are humbled before His grace, honor, pride, greatness, highness and ability over all things. The creatures are insignificant before Him, for they are all under His irresistible decision and power,

وَهُوَ الْحَكِيمُ

(and He is the All-Wise,) [Al An’aam 6:18] in all His actions,

الْخَبِيرُ (Well-Acquainted with all things.) [6:18]
Who places everything in its rightful place, grants and favors whomever deserves His favor.

So know O Muslim – Engulfed in pain and torture! Know that Allah is All Aware, All Wise, All Knowing, all-Seeing, the Just, the Loving, the Giver of all things, the One Who answers the call of his slaves. Allah will never abandon you, Allah will never withhold anything except to give something much greater. Allah’s plan is the best of all plans. So bear with patience for a little while more, for in this struggle you are not alone…!
